Castello Banfi Rosso di Montalcino 2012 DOC

Clear and perfumed with fresh red fruits with flowers, mineral on nose. Hint of leather with brown chocolate cake with fine tannin. This is medium-bodied red is savory, round with an elegant finish. Silky texture. Drink now or better in 2016.

Bright red. Aromas and flavors of red berries, violet and orange peel. Fresh and savory on the palate, with zippy, pure red berry and licorice flavors. Finishes moderately long and very clean. This uncomplicated Rosso should be excellent with hamburgers and simple barbecue fare. — Ian D’Agata

Floral and fruity aromas of violets, dark cherry, plum, chocolate and earthy notes. Smooth on the palate, showing black cherry, red currant, cooked raspberry, over hints of anise and spicy oak.
