This single clone, single vineyard wine reveals hint of orange, lemon and jasmine on the nose that are mirrored flavorwise on the palate. It’s densely flavored with a dry chalky texture and a richly extracted, long finish. Made from the Geisenheim Clone 239 known for its citrus aromas; fermented with ambient yeast in stainless steel.

Though not as floral as Pacific Rim’s Gewürztraminer, this dry Riesling has an inviting component of citrus blossom, leading into flavors anchored in grapefruit and apple. It’s a wine with good presence and some power, leading into a strong, mineral finish. – September 2014

April 2014 EXCEPTIONAL 2013 Pacific Rim Riesling, Columbia Valley, Selenium Vineyard: ($14) The white peach and tropical fruit aromas are muted, and made more complex by juniper and a faint slate-y notes. The wine is startlingly succulent for so dry a wine, and it’s best with lighter foods.
