Private: Novas Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Gran Reserva

The 2012 Novas Cabernet Sauvignon from Maipo has a ripe, classical nose of cedar and plums, with a subtle smoke note, a medium-bodied palate, ripe but bright flavors and a slightly bitter finish. Drink now. 6/26/14

Private: Novas Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva

Big aromas of black cherry, anise and cola berry, with hints of mint and tobacco. Smooth, with flavors of cassis, blackberry and desert spice and sandalwood. Smooth tannins on the balanced finish. Good by-the-glass choice. Food pairing: Grilled flat iron steak with chimichurri sauce

Private: Novas Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 Gran Reserva

With black cherry flavors at its core, this is embellished on all sides by scents of herbs and mint, a pure Andean cabernet. It’s also firm and tense, encased by tannins that need time to evolve, while its sense of place remains intact. – Patricio Tapia June 2012
