Deep red. Violet, sour red cherry and flint on the lively nose. Then flavors of savory herbs, ripe red cherry and underbrush are nicely lifted and extended on the long finish by bright, harmonious acidity. Lovely Brunello that, unlike many other past vintages of Poggio alle Mura Brunellos marked by dark fruit aromas and flavors, echoes with fresh red fruit reminders. For my money, there is simply no comparison between this beauty and some of the inky, very savory, herbal Poggio alle Mura wines of the past. This is a smashingly good Brunello.
