Canaiolo Nero

Canaiolo Nero is a red grape widely planted throughout Tuscany, Sardinia, Umbria, Lazio and Liguria and found in many of those region’s most popular wines. It produces wines that are soft and full-bodied. Until the 18th century, Canaiolo was actually more widely planted than Sangiovese. Today, Canaiolo is often used as a blend in many of Tuscany’s red wines.
