The grapes are grown in soil which consists of Clay (Argilla) in vineyards located in Santo Stefano Briga (Messina), Sicily, Italy.
The wine ages for 24 months in new barrels of Troncais oak. It is then bottled and allowed to rest, unfiltered, for at least two more years before release.
Color: Deep cardinal ruby with purple hues that tend toward garnet with age.
Bouquet: Persistent aromatic savory notes of tobacco and saddle leather, white pepper, densely spicy oak, and ripe fruit.
Taste: Velvety and dry, with multiple sensations including ripe red berries, dried plums and sweet oak. A persistent and finely textured finish.
This wine pairs elegantly to fish roasted with Mediterranean flavors, grilled meats and aged cheeses.
