Grown in Provincia di Pavia, Lombardy, Italy. There, the alluvial soils in the plains and in the bench lands and hillsides, rise to 600 feet above sea level; the soils turn to sandstone and are more calcareous.
Hand-harvested grapes are whole-berry pressed and fermented in stainless steel. Extended maceration
deepens the color and renders the tannins soft and silky. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation,
which increases the wine’s roundness and makes for a soft, full mouthfeel. The wine is aged without oak
to retain its bright fruit flavors.
Color: Ruby red. Bouquet: Wild cherries, black currants, dried spring flowers, and a touch of licorice.
Taste: Well balanced, with fresh fruit flavors and black-cherry nuances.
Ideal with grilled salmon, lamb, veal and pork. Also good with semi-aged cheeses.
