Alvaro Espinoza

Alvaro holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering with a specialization in Enology from the Catholic University of Chile and received his National Diploma in Enology from the Institute of Enology of the University of Bordeaux in 1989. He has been the Consulting Winemaker at Emiliana since 2000 and has helped create the premium organic and biodynamic wines from the Casablanca, Maipo, and Colchagua Valleys, Chile’s most prestigious wine regions.

Alvaro is one of Chile’s most widely recognized winemakers and has been part of many successful projects, including the introduction of biodynamic agriculture for vitivinicultural production. Over the years he has developed a philosophy for wine production based on a strong belief in the potential of Chilean wine and its unique characteristics.
